France kicked off their Euro 2024

France kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Austria in Group D. The match, held at the ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf, was decided by an unfortunate own goal from Austria's Maximilian Wöber in the 38th minute. Wöber attempted to clear a cross from Kylian Mbappé but inadvertently headed it into his own net

Despite the win, France's performance was overshadowed by an injury to Mbappé, who left the field with a bloodied nose after a collision. It was later confirmed that he had broken his nose and would need to wear a protective mask for future matches

Throughout the match, Austria posed several threats, particularly in the first half when Christoph Baumgartner nearly scored, only to be denied by France's goalkeeper Mike Maignan In the second half, France had chances to extend their lead, with opportunities falling to Antoine Griezmann and Marcus Thuram, but they were unable to convert

N'Golo Kanté was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance in midfield, where he consistently disrupted Austria's attacks and provided key passes for France

France's next challenge is against the Netherlands, where they hope to continue their positive start despite Mbappé's injury concerns (먹튀검증)
